Several interviews in a row made the man tired

A living legend of the music industry Quincy Jones visited Berlin recently and I had the pleasure of photographing him. Among many others, that is, and understandably the whole show was a clear burden to the man. Anyway, he has tons of fascinating stories to tell and a mindboggling careeer spanning several decades and involving numerous superstars. The story ran today in the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat and you can read it here. More after the jump.
Mr Jones is photographed in his hotel suite during interview. He is  lit with two Canon speedlights, triggered with PocketWizard FlexTT5 transceivers. Main light on the left is a Speedlight 580EX II with a Lastolite Ezybox. The kicker from right behind is limited by a Honlphoto honeycomb. The thing with the FlexTT5 is that it works remarkably well. It really has revolutionized my Speedlight work compared to the old days of infrared and ST-E2 (It is amazing that Canon has not come up with an update…) But there is one thing you need to take care of with these Pocket Wizards. Batteries must be top notch. When the batteries start to get tired, FlexTT5 starts to misfire and cause frustration. But with fresh energy, it works great!
